SomaticPlay(TM) therapist in training
My Background
Hello! My name is Mia, and I am a master’s level counselor here at Creating Pathways. I hold a BA in Clinical Psychology from Trinity Christian College and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University. As a counselor, my goal is to provide a supportive and safe environment to help clients on their journey of self-discovery.
I am a somatic therapist (which is a body-oriented trauma-focused modality) that utilizes play therapy techniques, mindfulness, expressive arts, sand-tray, and movement. I work with children aged four and up, adolescents, & adults who present with anxiety, depression, disassociation, acute trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, anger and aggression, OCD, self-harm, or suicidality. Coming and seeking counseling is a very challenging decision to make. It takes a lot of courage and strength to admit that one is in need of support. We are all on a different journey, each with its own challenges. And as our paths cross, know that a safe space is always waiting for you here.

“May we lead a helping hand and encourage each other to the end.“

(Mia is not accepting new clients at this time.)
